Tanya Side, who began her role on Feb. 7 as executive director of Muncie Arts (officially the Muncie Arts and Culture Council), introduced herself to the Muncie Redevelopment Commission during the Feb. 20 public-comment period.
Side said Muncie Arts runs artist residencies, painted traffic-box projects, public art and the Mayor’s Arts Awards, and that she plans to help the organization act as a service hub for arts partnerships citywide. She described past roles at the David Owsley Museum of Art, the Ball State University Foundation and as vice president of exhibitions and programs at a museum and emphasized working to “do more good for more people.”
Side said her office is at the Muncie Civic Theatre and invited commissioners and members of the public to contact her via the Muncie Arts website. The commission received no other public comments and adjourned.
