The Muncie Board of Public Works and Safety approved a right-of-way dedication at the intersection of McGalliard and Granville on March 26 to accommodate potential future sidewalk construction.
Emily, identified in the meeting as the city engineer, said the exhibit in the packet and a general dedication form had been reviewed by legal staff. She described the dedication as roughly 10–15 feet off the edge of pavement at the corner, where a new convenience-store or coffee-shop development is planned; the landowner is dedicating the strip now to allow the city to install sidewalks in the future if needed.
A board member moved approval of the right-of-way request; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote. Staff will record the dedication as part of the city’s right-of-way records.
