MUNCIE — The Board of Sanitary Commissioners on May 14 approved adding a $196,000 task to the existing contract with Christopher B. Burke Engineering to fund data gathering, design and permitting work on the west reach of the South Levee.
The task is intended to advance the levee toward full compliance with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requirements and support a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) that could remove the need for some residents to carry flood insurance.
