Committee members updating the Muncie Redevelopment Commission on May 15 said the facade grant program application form has been drafted, the program will be posted on the city website with a fillable PDF and the committee is finalizing scoring and review procedures ahead of a public launch.
Commissioners Bishop and Prabilla reported that the committee has met twice for more than an hour each meeting and that the application is modeled on prior rounds and committee discussions. Jason Phillips was identified as the committee chair; other members include Joy Rediger and Jess Hoffer.
Committee members said they expect high interest and are working to finalize a scoring rubric and review process; staff advised that the program operates under the original motion and funding authorization that created the grant fund and that MRC approval of the final scoring rubric is not required before launching the application.
There was no vote required; the update was informational. Committee members said the application would be available on the city website and that they plan a careful, documented review to manage anticipated demand.
