The Muncie Redevelopment Commission on May 15 reviewed its annual TIF report and approved a resolution informing the county auditor and impacted taxing units of the commission’s intent to capture 100% of tax-increment financing (TIF) assessed value for the 2026 budget year.
Bob Switz of London Whitty Group presented the annual TIF report and told the commission the data had been uploaded to the Department of Local Government Finance gateway and that the county council already had been presented the material. He said the commission historically has captured 100% of assessed value and that the annual resolution starts the budgeting process with county auditors and other taxing units.
Commissioners voted in favor of the resolution by roll call; the clerk recorded unanimous yes votes from present members.
Switz described the resolution as routine and necessary for budget and tax distribution planning and noted the form will be distributed to taxing units. No changes to capture percentage were proposed at the meeting.
The commission’s action was procedural and does not change existing debt or project authorizations; it notifies the county auditor of the commission’s intent for the next budget year.
