He also said students receive 120 minutes of PE per week and that some social studies and science standards are integrated into ELA and math instruction.
Dave showed a sample daily schedule from Evergreen Elementary and a sample-third-grade fraction equivalence unit the district uses for assessment. He said the district will continue reporting details to the board so members can speak to constituents about instructional time and content.
He also described Memorial Day teaching and school ceremonies; North Valley High School produced a video and elementary teachers used interactive quizzes and community bulletin boards to teach about Memorial Day.
The board received the presentation as information; the superintendent said staff will share video links and further instructional materials with the board.
