Staff reported that about 96% of students take at least one CTE class, that the district issued over 400 industry or program certificates this year and that more than 30 students completed or participated in internships. Work-based learning (clinical placements, internships, practicum and pre-apprenticeships) was emphasized as a district priority. Staff also described partnership projects that had produced real community improvements (examples included floor replacement at a senior center and other nonprofit projects supported by student labor and grant funding).
Board members and staff discussed future focuses including AI implications for CTE, expanding certification opportunities, and strengthening employer partnerships to ensure students acquire in-demand skills; staff said they will continue to build out training and program supports.
