City updates Southeast economic strategy; open house, new online hub planned

Jonathan Lice, Community Development director for the City of Fort Wayne, briefed the City Council committee on progress implementing the Southeast Economic Development strategy and previewed a new public “Engage” webpage and an open house planned for late March.
Lice said the Engage page will be the central location for updates on completed and underway projects and a place for residents to RSVP and give input. “Thanks for the opportunity tonight,” Jonathan Lice, Community Development director, said at the start of his presentation.
The update recapped metrics and investments from the five-year strategy. City staff said the Engage site recorded more than 120,000 visits last year, including about 51,000 unique visitors, roughly 2,000 contributors and about 1,500 people signed up for regular project updates. Since the strategy was adopted, staff reported roughly $86 million of public and private investment in Southeast Fort Wayne, not counting the Google data center commitment.
