The Elkhart City Council on a unanimous voice vote adopted a resolution honoring Captain Adam J. Kuspa for his 26 years of service to multiple fire departments and for his contributions to the Elkhart City Fire Department.
The resolution (Proposed Resolution 25-R-01) memorialized Kuspa’s career, noting service with Portage Township, Warren Township, Clay Fire Territory and the University of Notre Dame before joining the Elkhart City Fire Department in February 2006, and said he helped establish and lead the department’s technical rescue team and served as a shift trainer and lead instructor at the training academy.
Council President Dawson invited Kuspa’s family forward and addressed them directly: “We are so proud of what Adam did. We are so proud of him as a firefighter, as a father, as a friend, as a comrade,” Dawson said, expressing the council’s gratitude for Kuspa’s service to the community.
The resolution passed by roll call vote, 9-0.
