The Elkhart City Common Council read two proposed measures on first reading and, by unanimous consent, ordered both for a second reading. The items were:
Proposed Ordinance 25‑0‑8: an ordinance amending ordinance number 5,963 to establish rates and charges for the City of Elkhart water utility system by replacing appendix A and appendix B as approved by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
Proposed Ordinance 25‑0‑09: an ordinance appropriating $8,984,000 from the general fund for the new Fire Station 6.
For each ordinance the clerk read the title and the council chair said, “If no objection, this shall be passed on a second reading,” after which no objection was recorded and the items were scheduled for second reading. No motions, roll-call votes, or debates on the ordinances were recorded during the first-reading announcements at this meeting.
