The Elkhart Plan Commission approved a six-month extension of preliminary plat approval for the Patel Minor Subdivision (Bravish Patel, D/B/A Lakshmi Meevan LLC) at 2701 W. Lexington. The commission’s approval extends the preliminary approval period to Aug. 11, 2025, because the original 12-month tentative approval was set to expire.
Staff told the commission that the petitioner would not meet the original deadline, citing illness that caused backlog for the application. No applicant representative appeared; staff handled the item as a staff item. Commissioner Mishler moved and Commissioner Davis seconded the motion to extend the final approval by six months. Carla conducted a roll-call vote; the motion carried unanimously.
The extension preserves the petitioner’s tentative approval while the applicant completes the remaining requirements needed for final plat recording.
