Student artist Ryan Lomber honored for art series and fundraising for Pact with Pride

The artist set a goal to raise $10,000 for Pact with Pride; staff reported she surpassed that target in 2024 and that her prints and originals hang in Tigard-Tualatin schools and public offices in multiple states.
Lomber, a Valley Catholic High School sophomore who said she focuses her art on messages of inclusion and belonging, told the board the work aims to create "a space where students felt safe and included." Speakers recounted invitations Lomber received to national gatherings: she was invited to a TEACH conference in Washington, D.C., and presented a print to U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona.
Board members and foundation representatives thanked Lomber for the project's longevity and community impact; the Foundation for Tigard-Tualatin Schools acknowledged the ongoing partnership with Pact with Pride. Lomber said she will continue advocacy work and presented a final canvas to a middle-school teacher who supported her early work.
The board concluded the recognition with applause and asked staff to coordinate follow-up visits where Lomber will meet with students and affinity groups.
