The Board of Public Works voted May 6 to accept amended industrial wastewater discharge permits updated with newly calculated local limits and to approve a five‑year industrial wastewater permit renewal for Dimensional Metals Products, doing business as RC Industries (permit number recorded as 92‑02 in the meeting).
Steve Brown, Public Works and Utilities, told the board the city completed a local‑limit study (conducted as part of NPDES permit obligations) and must amend individual industrial discharge permits to reflect the revised numeric local limits, including some changes to instantaneous limits. Brown said staff communicated the new limits to affected users; he told the board that only one industry raised concerns during outreach.
Board members confirmed these are NPDES‑linked limits applied to significant industrial users; Brown said the amendments affect 39 industrial users under the local program. The board also approved the five‑year renewal for Dimensional Metals/RC Industries after staff said the company has been a compliant industrial user.
Both actions were approved by voice vote.
