The Evansville Common Council on March 31 adopted Ordinance G2025-08, granting Diamond Transportation Taxi LLC a certificate of convenience and necessity for 2025.
Applicant Sheila Stanley appeared and asked the council to “please grant the certificate so I can start my cab company and try to serve the tri-state area.” She gave her address for the record (1212 East Oregon Street) and said she has prior driving experience and aims to fill a reliability gap in local taxi service.
Council members posed no substantive objections. After no public comment, the clerk called a roll and recorded a unanimous vote: 9 ayes and 0 nays. The ordinance was declared adopted and the council congratulated Stanley as she left the podium.
The ordinance grants Diamond Transportation Taxi LLC the city certificate for the current year; the certificate’s effective administrative requirements (insurance, vehicle inspection, drivers’ licensing) are handled by city licensing staff per the city code.
