The Lafayette City Council approved claims totaling $2,232,825.40 during the meeting.
Jeremy Deal, city controller, told the council, "The controller's office has reviewed claims totaling $2,232,825.40. I request the board's approval." A motion and second followed and the council approved the claims by voice vote.
Council discussion included a remark that the claims packet ran to 74 pages, with much of the volume attributable to small spring tax and ditch-fee line items. Deal and others noted there were a "couple of actual property tax bills" amid the mostly smaller entries, and the council took no roll-call vote during approval.
The action authorizes payment from city funds for the approved claims listed in the controller's report. No individual claim lines were debated in the public portion of the meeting.
