Lafayette Renew requested and the council approved permission to advertise for bids on the Prairie Oaks Force Main permanent bypass project.
Angela Andrews of Lafayette Renew described the work as including approximately 45 linear feet of a new force main connection off an existing 20-inch force main, new plug valves to facilitate inspection and repair, ductile-iron piping improvements on an existing 30-inch force main that required an emergency repair last year, bench wall work and epoxy manhole lining. Andrews said the advertisement would be published March 28 and April 4, with bids opening April 29.
Council members moved, seconded and approved the permission to advertise by voice vote. Lafayette Renew staff said Wesler Engineering (present at the meeting) would answer more technical questions during advertisement and bidding phases.
