Lafayette Renew board approves $51.07 million final CSO treatment contract, OKs solar completion and several contract adjustments

Brad Talley, a representative of Lafayette Renew, told the Lafayette City board on Tuesday that the utility’s long-term control plan has reached its final major construction phase and recommended award of a guaranteed maximum price for the high-rate treatment facility.
Talley said the final facility was resized after earlier phases to reduce capacity from an originally planned 119 million gallons per day to 73 million gallons per day. He identified major components as the high-rate treatment unit, internal piping, electrical and chemical treatment upgrades, a 30 million gallon-per-day wet-weather expansion at the Pearl River Lift Station, a new 36-inch force main and SCADA monitoring.
