The City of Kokomo Board of Public Works and Safety on May 14 adopted the City of Kokomo Transit public transit agency safety plan for submission to the Federal Transit Administration.
Leah Melton, transit manager, submitted a memo asking the board to adopt the safety plan and authorize submission to the FTA via the KHC GCC. “This memo is to request the City of Kokomo Board of Public Works Safety adopt the City of Kokomo Transit's public transit agency safety plan for, submission to the FTA via the KHC GCC,” Melton said.
A motion to accept the safety plan and its submission was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote. The transcript does not record a roll-call vote.
Background: the Federal Transit Administration requires transit agencies to maintain and submit safety plans; staff presented the plan for formal adoption and submission through the Kokomo-Howard County or similar grant coordination channel (referred to in the record as KHC GCC).
