The Kokomo Board of Public Works and Safety on May 7 approved using $161,835 from the SE-1 account to supplement funding for multiple improvements at the Transit Center.
Tammy Korn, executive director of the KHC GCC, told the board the memo requested $150,000 for transit center parking lot refurbishment and safety enhancements, $7,110 for a fire egress window on the Transit Center second floor, and $4,125 for public restroom hand dryers, totaling $161,835. Korn said the KHC GCC policy board would consider resolution 2025-12 on May 8 to authorize the expenditures. She also told the board that remaining funds for the parking lot would come from 5307 funds with a 20% local match, and that SE-1 funds required no local match.
A board member moved approval of the SE-1 fund use, a second was recorded and the board voted to carry the motion.
