Kokomo board approves contract tweaks and $252,000 payment for northeast sanitary sewer work

He said modification number 2 increases the contract by $6,500 and modification number 3 — for a newly installed drive at the Hagerman development that required additional full-depth granular backfill — increases the contract by $3,840. “I recommend the Board of Public Works and Safety approve contract modifications number 2 and number 3,” Pike said.
At the same meeting Pike presented pay application number 4 for Atlas Excavating Inc. He said the project’s original contract was $988,120 and subsequent modifications raised the amount to about $1,327,598, and that modifications 2 and 3 add another $10,340 making the adjusted contract $1,637,938. Pike recommended approval of application number 4 in the amount of $252,323.05 with $13,280.16 placed into a retainage account.
A motion to approve the contract modifications passed by voice vote; a second motion approved pay application number 4 and the retainage. The board did not state a roll-call tally during the public record for these items.
Background: the project consultant is Donahue Associates; Atlas Excavating Inc provided the installed quantities used to prepare the payment request.
