Police Chief Stout recommended promoting Specialist Chad Mooney, badge number 430, to the rank of sergeant effective April 6. The board approved the promotion; the newly appointed officer will begin patrol division assignment with a 180-day probationary period as stated in the recommendation.
The board granted city crews permission to enter and remove abated items from five properties identified by Building and Code Services: 1018 East Broadway Street, 2918 Rose Lane, 907 Miami Boulevard, 509 South Cortland Avenue, and 739 South Market Street. Engineering presented and the board approved an interconnection agreement with Duke Energy for a solar tree located "near the dog on Main Street," with the director of engineering confirming the project meets Duke Energy's guidelines.
