At its regular meeting Wednesday, the RSU 4 School Board approved the first readings of several district policies and procedures and took multiple personnel actions.
The board approved first readings of IKF (graduation requirements), JICH (drug and alcohol use by students), DKC (expense authorization and reimbursement), and DJH (purchasing and contracting / procurement staff code of conduct). The board also approved related procedures (DKC-R travel procedures) and deleted older procedures ACAA-R1 and ACAB-R1 that were replaced March 12, 2025.
On personnel matters, the board approved motions to move first-year probationary professionals to second-year probationary status, to promote second-year probationary staff to continuing professional contracts, and to accept other listed professional-contract actions. The board also approved the hire of Britney Labrec as the Oak Hill High School social worker for the 2025-26 school year "as recommended by the superintendent of schools." The votes on these items were unanimous.
Board members asked for more retention data, including the retention rate of first-year teachers moving to second-year contracts; administrators said they did not have a current figure ready at the meeting but will follow up.
The approvals were routine business for the district, and board members moved them by consensus with no recorded opposition.
