The Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees approved two facility-naming actions: renaming Hebron Valley Elementary School to the LISD STEM Academy at Hebron Valley and naming the campus’s outside green space the Polzer Pavilion.
Board member Doctor Taylor, chair of the facility-naming committee, reported that the board’s committee referred community requests to the Hebron Valley Focused Connection Committee. That committee recommended the STEM-style campus name consistent with other district STEM academies and suggested honoring the Polzer name by naming the greenspace the Polzer Pavilion. The board’s naming committee reviewed the recommendation and brought both items to the board as action items.
Trustee Doctor Barker moved approval to rename the campus; the motion passed 7-0. A separate motion to name the outdoor green space the Polzer Pavilion also passed 7-0. The campus is due for a 20-year refresh and the committee suggested the name changes be incorporated as part of that project timetable and budget.
