Board hears Technology Advisory Council update; district reports device and usage metrics

District technology staff presented their monthly technology report and an update on the Technology Advisory Council to the Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees.
IT leadership reported fund balances in the technology account (approximately $3.1 million remaining in the IFE account as of March 31) and described device-age metrics: teacher device age averaged about 2 years, 6 months after a staff iPad refresh project. Student device participation remained high, with an opt-in rate for grades 4–12 of 98.49 percent and a campus device availability monthly average around 90.7 percent. Educational usage metrics were cited at roughly 92 percent.
The Technology Advisory Council was described as a stakeholder group including students, staff, parents, administrators and technical staff that met multiple times during the year to advise on district policy, device deployment, interactive flat-panel purchases under the 2023 bond and inputs from student advisory groups. Administration said the council will recruit additional members in the fall and requested the board’s input on potential committee nominees.
Trustees offered no substantive objections and thanked staff for the report. The presentation was informational; no board action was required.
