The Lewisville ISD Board of Trustees on the evening of the board meeting formally canvassed the May 3, 2025 trustee election results, swore in three newly elected trustees and then elected board officers by unanimous votes.
The board adopted an order declaring the results of the May 3 election and electing Catherine Sells to Single-Member District Place 2, Jenny Proznick to Single-Member District Place 3 and Sheila Taylor to At-Large Place 7, subject to taking the oath of office. Board Secretary Jamie Riggle administered the oaths.
The action followed acceptance of county returns from Denton and Tarrant counties. After the oath proceedings concluded, trustees followed the board’s prescribed process for selecting internal leadership. Trustee Jenny Proznick was nominated and elected board president in a 7-0 vote. Catherine Sells was elected vice president by a 7-0 vote, and Sheila Taylor was elected board secretary by a 7-0 vote.
The board opening included a quorum announcement and a statement that the meeting notice had been posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act. The canvass motion and the officer elections were all approved by roll call as recorded in the meeting minutes.
The board began and conducted these items in open session; the meeting later recessed into a closed session as authorized by the Texas Government Code sections that were cited at the meeting.
