Lewisville Education Foundation outlines revenue-sharing addendum, seeks new corporate donors

Bill Lee, representing the Lewisville Education Foundation (LAF), presented the foundation’s annual memorandum of understanding to the board and summarized fundraising and revenue-sharing activities.
Lee said recent activity has included a Grandscape digital advertising barter, alternating flight cycles between LAF and LISD advertising, bus advertising revenue on about 20 buses, and the foundation’s pass-through events such as career incubators and scholarship programs. He reported total LAF 2024 revenue at about $1,500,000 with expenses of about $1,100,000, and that roughly 85% of LAF funds are restricted (scholarships, endowments) while about 15% are unrestricted operational revenue.
Lee outlined strategies to increase unrestricted funding: raising minimum endowment thresholds, adding events beyond three yearly programs, implementing a 1–1.5% maintenance or service fee on endowments, reviving a plan for contractors to contribute a percent of construction contracts for bond projects, and launching a corporate leadership society with higher-level tiers up to $50,000.
Trustees asked about board composition and geographic representation; Lee said LAF aims for broader geographic balance and that board growth is ongoing.
