Vidor ISD board canvasses election, swears in trustees and elects officers

The Vidor Independent School District board on Monday approved the canvass of the 2025 election, administered oaths of office to newly elected trustees and elected board officers for the 2025–26 school year.
A motion to accept the canvass of the 2025 election was made by Mr. Harrington and seconded by Mr. White; the board approved the canvass by voice vote. Administration then administered the oath of office to newly elected trustees; after the oath and the addition of the newly sworn member, the board had seven members present.
Trustees then nominated and voted for board officers. The board elected Gina Vandevender as president, David Camp as vice president and Terry Vincent as secretary for the 2025–26 school year. The motions were seconded and the votes were reported as unanimous where indicated.
The administration also announced the schedule of board meetings: agendas will be posted at least 72 hours in advance and the next regular meeting was set for June 23; future meetings will be on the second Tuesday of each month following June 23 unless special meetings are called.
