Rouses Point — Trustees used the March 17 meeting to remind residents that the village election will be held at Halstead Hall from 12 noon until 9 p.m. on the following day and to report on a traffic-safety mirror for the Montgomery and Lake intersection.
Trustee Menard told residents that the village election will take place at Halstead Hall from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. the next day. The board did not discuss ballot items at the meeting; the announcement was a reminder for voters.
Trustee Southwick updated the board on a mirror previously posted at the Montgomery and Lake intersection. Southwick said the mirror had been taken down without the village's knowledge; board members located the mirror and contacted the New York State Department of Transportation. Southwick said the DOT has promised to return and reinstall the same mirror for the safety purpose for which it was originally placed. "Hopefully, it stays up this time," Southwick added.
The trustees did not take formal action on either item during the meeting; both were reported as routine updates for residents.
