The Town of Champlain scheduled a special meeting at noon March 25 for consultants to present cost comparisons for two distribution-system options for Sewer District 7: a low-pressure delivery system and a standard gravity system.
Supervisor Trombley told the board the presentations from Barton and "the Judas" (as transcribed) will allow the town to choose the system that best fits long-term needs. Once the board determines which system to use, it will proceed with reformation of District 7 and set appropriate annual costs; the board targeted action at a subsequent meeting.
Board members noted one of the larger expenses on the meeting additionals was payment for the Sewer District 7 study; staff said that payment will be made from a general account and reimbursed from grant funds once the project advances.
No construction contract was awarded at the meeting; town staff said construction is planned to follow engineering and approvals and that further scheduling and funding details will be provided after the March 25 presentation.
