The Fairbanks North Star Borough Board of Equalization accepted proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law in three related appeals brought by Sam Moore for lots in the Campus Acres Subdivision during its May 14, 2025 meeting.
The board identified the members who considered the written findings for each case. For case 123 (Lot 14) the deciding members were Member Shuster, Member Evans and the chair presiding; members Fouldeau and Daczynski were excused. Member Shuster moved to accept the findings and Member Evans seconded; the motion passed with no recorded opposition and the clerk will mail the written decision to the appellant and the assessor.
The same procedure was followed for case 124 (Lot 15) and case 125 (Lot 16). For those cases the board identified the deciding members as Mr. Shuster, Mr. Evans and Ms. Zao; motions to accept the findings were moved and seconded on the record and passed without opposition. The clerk will mail each written decision to Sam Moore at the address on the record.
The chair noted that some members were excused from the meeting and that certain members were not present for particular decisions; the board made the quorum and confirmed that members listed would consider the findings of fact and conclusions of law for the specified cases. The board's actions were procedural acceptances of previously drafted written decisions rather than presentations of new evidence.
The meeting record shows the board will issue written decisions to the appellant and the assessor by mail as part of the standard process for closing cases.
