Superintendent reports two incidents of violence and one weapon finding in semiannual SSDS

Dr. Jewett, superintendent of Watchung Hills Regional High School District, presented the semiannual Student Safety Data Summary (SSDS) for July 1 through Dec. 31, 2024, and said the results were forwarded to the state and included in the board minutes.
The summary listed 2 reported incidents of violence, 0 incidents of vandalism, 1 reported incident involving a weapon, 4 incidents of substance abuse and 26 other incidents that led to student removal. Dr. Jewett also said there were 3 alleged and 2 confirmed incidents related to HIV during the reporting period. "And so, that's, that. And that always gets sent into the state, and is included with our board minutes," Dr. Jewett said. The board did not take separate action on the SSDS during the meeting.
