Board of Park Commissioners elects Trost chair, Young vice chair and Weston secretary

Acting Vice Chair called the La Crosse Board of Park Commissioners meeting to order May 15 and the board conducted officer elections for the coming term, nominating and approving Jennifer Trost as chair, Robert Young as vice chair and Lisa Weston as secretary.

The board heard nominations at the start of the meeting. Commissioner (acting vice chair) nominated Council Member Jennifer Trost for chair and a second was recorded; with no other nominations and no objections the acting vice chair announced Trost as chair. Robert Young was nominated and seconded for vice chair and the board accepted the nomination. Lisa Weston was nominated and seconded for secretary and the board accepted that nomination.

Procedure and record: the transcript shows nominations, seconds and the chair’s announcement that Trost will serve as chair; no roll-call vote was recorded for the chair position (the acting chair indicated the position would be filled absent objection). The vice chair and secretary nominations were seconded and accepted in like manner. No motions to reconsider were raised during the meeting.
