Pascack Valley board holds special meeting, approves Pascack Hills trip

The Pascack Valley Regional High School District Board of Education met in a special session Wednesday, April 2, and approved a consent-agenda item to authorize a trip for Pascack Hills by roll call vote.

The approval came after brief public comments from school officials. Tim Whelan, principal of Pascack Hills, thanked the board for holding the special meeting and for approving the trip, saying, “this wasn't board approved prior to this board meeting and ... all of you were able to give up your time this evening to have the special board meeting to approve this trip, means the world to us.” Jack Tiedor, head coach of the Pascack Hills Pioneers and a River Vale resident, added: “I wanna, express my own thanks for and the thanks of the team.”

The board’s presiding officer noted that adequate notice of the meeting had been provided by mailing copies to the record, filing copies with the municipal clerks of Hillsdale, Montvale, River Vale and Woodcliff Lake, and publishing notice in the record and on the district website. The presiding officer also reminded speakers that public-comment time is limited to three minutes under Pascack Valley Regional High School District Board of Education policy 167.

Board members moved and seconded the single consent-agenda item. The roll call votes recorded in the transcript show Yes votes from Miss Calderon, Miss Guzman, Mrs. Huang, Miss Keller, Mr. Stankus and Mrs. Varghese (6 yes).
