Jackie Duffy, representing the petitioner, told the council the work would be “not even a day,” involve a single truck and minimal staging on Ash Street, and was planned to start “as soon as possible.” She said the conduit run is adjacent to a utility pole and the work would likely be plated until permanent paving could occur.
Councilors asked about trench depth and impacts. Councilor Kathy Ann Harris asked whether the trench is 4 feet deep and whether work would affect sidewalks or Moody Street; Duffy said the trenching is on Ash Street near the pole and not on Moody, and she reported no notice responses from residents so far. She also said Eversource would likely have a police detail for traffic control.
No one spoke in opposition. The council closed the public hearing and forwarded the matter to the License and Franchise Committee for further action.
