Change order reduces contract amount for High Plains use center renovations

Staff explained the project experienced delays unrelated to the county’s decision, notably a lock manufacturer acquisition and pricing changes that affected final costs. ‘‘In the process of it being sold, the vendor ... changed the price ... they reviewed the cost, and that is why you see that there is a better price that is in here than what had originally been expected,’’ a county presenter said.
SMP Architects and Western Builders approved the change order; the court voted 5–0 to accept it. The county will execute the change order and finalize contract records.
