Commissioners authorize participation agreement to switch to Syslogic for victim notification

Randall County Commissioners Court approved May 13 a participation agreement to use the statewide automated victim notification service (VINE) provided by Syslogic.gov, Inc., under contract number 52025SYZRandallCounty.

County counsel and staff explained the state has selected Syslogic as the vendor for the automated victim notification service and that counties must participate to comply with statutory requirements. "If you don't take the vendor that is imposed upon you by the state, then you're out of compliance with the law," a county official said.

Staff described the service as automated and noted county offices provide the data feed but do not operate the notification system day‑to‑day. The county will receive grant funding passed through the Attorney General’s office to pay the vendor; staff recommended accepting the vendor and the associated funding. The court voted 5–0 to approve the participation agreement.

Why it matters: The service provides automated victim notifications (custody status, court dates) required by law; participating in the state‑selected vendor enables the county to receive grant funding that covers the service costs.

Next steps: With court approval the county will execute the participation agreement and take administrative steps to connect its data sources to the statewide system.
