Board says campaign provided partial response to Cornel West subpoena; staff will review

A staff presenter told the board the subpoena response arrived last night and contained some additional information that staff believe could be usable for signature-matching analysis. The staffer said the bureau will review the response material and consult with the attorney general’s office about legal issues raised by the campaign’s objections.
“We did get a response last night, which ... does seem to have some additional information that we might be able to use to look at signatures,” the staff member said. The staff member said the bureau had not completed its review and anticipated bringing further information back to the board at a future meeting.
Board members asked about the subpoena timeline and noted the campaign’s response deadline; staff said the response arrived ahead of or on the due date and that they will review the material and return with signature-matching results and any legal questions for the board to consider.
