The Central Virginia Transportation Authority Technical Advisory Committee on May 12 asked member jurisdictions to update the regional spend-down workbook that tracks expected quarterly and annual spending of CVTA regional awards and set a firm submission deadline of June 27.
The workbook compiles awards by project and jurisdiction and is intended to align allocations with expected cash-flow and reimbursement timing. TAC staff said the spreadsheet in the packet contains the most recent responses from local contacts and that some jurisdictions have not yet returned updates. The chair asked members to provide updated entries so staff can assemble a consolidated packet before the next fiscal year and before bond planning work proceeds.
Committee members discussed the practical timing of the request. Several members noted that finance and accounting staff are busy closing fiscal years in May and June; the group nevertheless agreed to the June 27 date to provide a concrete deadline. VDOT-administered projects will be updated by VDOT, and TAC staff said they would distribute the underlying workbook and VDOT project status printouts to localities for verification.
TAC staff said they plan to provide downloadable templates in the members portal and work toward a future online update mechanism that will allow local staff to edit the workbook directly. The committee also said it would provide reminder notices prior to the deadline.
