The staffing increase, the shift of communications to St. Louis County dispatch and creation of a dedicated traffic unit are the most immediate changes Chief Doyle emphasized. “We are sitting at 88% staff,” Doyle said, adding the department added officers and that traffic enforcement activity rose “77%” overall with a “69% increase in actual traffic citations, and a 96% increase in actual warnings.”
