The Winooski Liquor Control Board and City Council approved routine consent items at their April 7 meeting.
Liquor Control Board Deputy Mayor Thomas Renner called the Liquor Control Board to order at 6 p.m. The board approved renewals for a list of licensees including RVA, Our House, Monkey, WestCo (both locations: 155 Main and 280 East Allen), Walgreens, Sammy's Quick Stop (264 Miles Bay), Simons, Waterworks, Vermont Curry and Cocktails, the VFW, Metarello Baked Goods, Asian Bistro Big Red, Side B, and SWJ Hospitality. Jenny (city staff) reported that several conditional approvals were removed because certificate-of-fitness issues had been resolved; Sammy's inspection was complete and that license was no longer conditional. Councilor Charlie moved to approve and Councilor Thomas seconded; the motion carried.
City Council consent agenda The council's consent agenda included minutes from March 31, payroll warrants for March, accounts payable for March and April, a resolution recognizing Arab American Heritage Month, the annual financial plan for town highways, and an event permit application for Waking Windows (which was later pulled for separate discussion). Councilor Charlie moved approval and Councilor Thomas seconded; the motion carried.
What this means These were procedural approvals that allow city operations and licensing to continue without interruption. City staff noted the resolved certificates of fitness that removed conditions from several renewals.
