Finance committee presents budget packet; referendum audio-visual and concession projects move toward summer work

At a meeting of the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District board, the finance committee delivered its March update, including a budget packet for the upcoming 2025–26 fiscal year and a referendum progress report.

Committee member Mrs. Howe told the board that members received a packet detailing revenues and expenditures and a municipal breakdown showing tax impacts. She said a public hearing on the proposed budget will take place at the board meeting on May 5, which the committee expects to hold at Oak Crest High School.

On the referendum update, the committee reported two facility projects. The auditorium audio and visual upgrades at all three high schools were described as hopeful to begin this summer; the vendor named in the report is Starlight. The committee also said concession-stand work is under negotiation: at Cedar Creek High School the planned concession renovation will include men’s and women’s restrooms, while Oakcrest will receive a renovation of its concession area as well. Committee materials and the budget packet were provided to board members in advance and the committee invited questions ahead of a second reading.
