Board votes to back Shade Tree Commission's $20,000 Green Communities grant application

She asked the board to authorize a letter of support signed by President Miller to accompany the commission's application, which will include letters from the mayor, public works and planning board.
Trustees voted on the motion. The roll call recorded one abstention (Ms. Phillips) because she said she had helped find the grant; all other voting trustees supported the letter. The motion passed and Mr. Miller was authorized to sign and submit the letter of support.
No district funding was committed in the motion; the letter is a formal expression of support to accompany the Shade Tree Commission's external grant application.
