The district said it used existing contract pricing (MiDEAL and other cooperative contracts) to buy the furniture and worked with the school principal and GMB's interior designer to finalize selections. The board packet shows the total proposed purchase at $176,364.81, about $54,000 below the district's projection from the prior year of roughly $230,000. Staff attributed the savings to lower media-center and office costs and reduced installation and shipping fees.
Board action and votes
A motion to approve the purchase as presented passed unanimously by roll call. Staff said purchases will be charged to the originally budgeted bond/renovation allocations and that ESSER funds had already covered the first round of classroom furniture.
