Senate Bill 36, sponsored by Senator Stephen Roberts of Saint Louis, would create provisions relating to compensation for wrongful convictions and would expand the circumstances under which wrongfully convicted individuals may receive compensation from the state for their time spent in prison, Roberts told the Missouri Senate Judiciary and Civil and Criminal Jurisprudence Committee on Jan. 22.
