State presenters reviewed the governor’s bonding priorities including asset preservation for state facilities, requests for Direct Care and Treatment facilities and infrastructure, early‑childhood facility grants, and a Minnesota Housing public housing preservation proposal. Following the agency presentations, members offered local bonding requests for water treatment and water infrastructure projects in Hastings, Stillwater, Oak Park Heights, and a pretreatment wastewater project for First District dairy processing in Litchfield.
The committee’s consideration was informational; no binding appropriations were adopted at the hearing. Members and agency officials repeatedly emphasized the gap between documented capital need and available funding and flagged risks to public safety and services if projects go unaddressed.
