Council honors North County storm-cleanup volunteers and government crews
Summary

The St. Louis County Council on April 29 adopted Resolution Number 2 to honor residents, nonprofit volunteers and multiple government agencies who assisted with cleanup after tornadoes struck North St. Louis County on March 14, 2025.
The resolution names Missouri Department of Transportation staff (including Tabitha Locke, Stanley Andrews, Amir Gady and David Scales), St. Louis County Department of Transportation and Public Works staff (including Ralph Walker, Joshua Cox, Jamie Grimes Tiff and David Newcomb), OpenSpaceSTL and several local cleanup leaders and volunteers. The text thanks site leaders at Spanish Lake Park and other locations and quotes Sherry Anderson: “volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless,” language included in the resolution.
Council members adopted the resolution by roll call; the clerk announced seven ayes. After the vote Councilwoman Webb and others invited volunteers and agency representatives to the front of the chamber to receive framed copies of the resolution. Webb highlighted the role of county and state equipment and staff who assisted residents and thanked OpenSpaceSTL and local volunteers for removing debris and illegal dumping.
