District says MTSS grant work shifting to literacy; curriculum director openings to be posted

The Gloversville City School District superintendent told the board the district’s MTSS/STI (MTSSI) grant work is moving from behavior management toward a literacy focus and that the grant is scheduled to end June 30.
The superintendent said administrative teams, a reading interventionist and some classroom teachers participated in a recent grant session and that the district is drafting documents to formalize instructional steps begun under the grant. “The grant is scheduled to come to a close as of June thirtieth of this year. We're hopeful that we'll be a part of the the next phase of that grant. We should hear more about that in the coming months. Hopefully, by May 1, we should know a little bit more about that,” the superintendent said.
The superintendent also told the board the district plans to post vacancies for an elementary curriculum director and a secondary curriculum director on OLAS in March and expects to make hires in the spring. No candidate names or exact posting dates were provided in the meeting.
The item was presented during the superintendent’s report after the board approved prior minutes and before other agenda items. No formal board action on the grant or the hiring postings was recorded in the transcript.
