Fiscal Court approves personnel actions after executive session, creates Solid Waste foreman post

After an executive session on personnel and litigation, the Pike County Fiscal Court took a series of personnel actions on May 6.

Judge Jones moved a series of personnel changes that the court approved by roll call, including reassignments, hires and a termination. The court voted to move Lucinda D. King from housekeeper to disaster recovery specialist at the same pay rate effective April 28, 2025; to terminate Randy Burke as a heavy equipment operator effective April 22, 2025; to hire Logan Klein as a solid waste loader effective April 28, 2025; to transfer Dakota Hackney to CDL driver (solid waste) at the same rate; to move Cameron Anderson from loader to public works custodian (effective dates and exact pay details were stated in the personnel motion); to acknowledge hiring Cody Thornsberry to Road Lot 6 with effective dates discussed; to extend employment for Brian Mullins (carpenter) for six months; and to move Jonathan Copley from non‑CDL driver to CDL driver effective May 12, 2025.

The court also created a new Solid Waste foreman supervisor position to oversee field operations and report to the Solid Waste manager; the court nominated Steve Asbury to the post, and the appointment was effective May 7, 2025.
