The Riverhead Central School District's Health and Safety Subcommittee reported to the board on Jan. 28 that officials are expanding staff training and addressing several safety and operations issues raised at a Jan. 15 committee meeting.
Terry Culhane, the district director of security, told the committee the district plans additional CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training to reach “at least three trained individuals at each elementary school and at Pulaski.” Culhane also said the high school is receiving “80 to a 100 vape alerts per day,” and security administration is addressing the issue.
