In consultation with Assistant Superintendent Beistrac, the district recommended a repeat of a one‑year MOA that created stipend positions last year; the board approved the MOA to allow another year of implementation while the district and union consider whether to make the arrangement permanent.
Formal action: Trustee Fred moved to approve the memorandum of agreement creating four special education IEP compliance coordinator stipend positions; Trustee Leanne seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Next steps: the district will implement the stipend positions for the coming year, monitor outcomes and determine whether to pursue a permanent arrangement with the KTA in future negotiations.
